Since building personal relationships is so important in our field, I’d like to share a little bit about myself.
Interest in Life Sciences
I graduated in the mid-90s from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam as a Neuropsychologist. The title of my thesis was “The influence of vitamin B3 and B6 on the memory of healthy elderly people.” So, the interest in improving the quality of “our” lives was already there from an early stage.
Recruitment & Executive Search
After a brief detour as a selection psychologist with the police, I started as the first employee at Medoc (DOCS Global) as a passionate recruiter. I still remember many wonderful conversations in the conservatory of the Amstel Hotel, and I hope that candidates also look back on those moments fondly.
Learning to Manage and Recognize Good Management
My employer (Erik) gave me ample opportunities to develop myself, take initiative, improve, and I always felt supported and challenged. Mistakes (okay, small errors) were allowed. I’ve tried to apply this approach in my own working life with everyone I hired. At DOCS, I was involved in setting up offices and activities in ten countries across Europe. Several managers I hired and led at the time (many of whom surpassed me within two years) later became successful entrepreneurs, and I’m still secretly proud of that (with the risk of forgetting someone – Ed, Ilona, Angela, Kieran, Sabine, Christian, Frank, Connie, Christian, Brigitte, and of course, Thomas Lieb).
…Doing it Myself…
In 2010, I co-founded and became the owner of The Clinical Company. With branches in Belgium and the Netherlands, we built a close-knit team of clinical professionals as well as a recruitment team, and our strength was our dedication to our staff. The result was motivated and capable professionals, and our clients were also very positive about them – a true Win-Win situation.

The passion for both Life Sciences and people is within me. It gives me great pleasure to use my knowledge and expertise to support both young ambitious professionals and senior executives in their careers. I follow the developments of companies and trends within Life Sciences with great interest and enjoy brainstorming with companies on shaping their human capital.
